Ralph W. Tonnies 75 of Breese died Saturday April 5, 2008 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO 

He was born December 6, 1932 in Damiansville, to Fred and Euphimia (Markus) Tonnies: they preceded him in death

 Also preceded in death by his step mother Veronica (Stockmann) Tonnies

 He married Florence Bergmann August 25, 1962 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso and she preceded him in death February 7, 1975

 Also preceded in death by brothers Paul and Virgil Tonnies, step son Gary Schwaegel, step-son-in-law Rich Friederich, step-daughter-in-law Beth Schwaegel, brothers-in-law John Mullen and Gary Dwyer, sisters-in-law Gloria Tonnies and Lorraine Tonnies

 He then married Helen (Schulte) Schwaegel July 6, 1979 at St. Dominic Church in Breese and she survives in Breese 

Also surviving are sons Mike (Lynn) Tonnies of Germantown, Gary (Tina) Tonnies of Damiansville 

Daughters Geralyn (Stuart) Oldham of St. Louis MO, Barb (Tom) Daly of Indianapolis, IN

 Step children Janice (Mike) Hajek of Maryville, Judy (David) Voss of Breese, Joyce (friend) Todd Beck) Raymond of Colorado Springs, Co, Dan Schwaegel of New Auburn WI 

17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

 Brothers Dan (Myrtle) Tonnies of Albers, Fred Tonnies of Belleville, Jerry (Julie) Stockmann of Aviston

 Sisters Florence (Vince) Arentsen of Damiansville, Vera Mullen of Shelton Ct, Betty Dwyer of Albuquerque NM 

Sister-in-law Dee Tonnies of Highland

 Ralph was a retired farmer and an associate with Moss Funeral Home

 Member of St. Dominic Church in Breese, American Legion Post 252 Breese. Clinton County Farm Bureau

 Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday April 8, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Church, Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating Interment St. Damian cemetery, Damiansville

 Visitation will be held on Monday April 7, from 4 to 9 Pm and Tuesday April 8 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese 

Memorials can be made to St. Dominic Church building fund, All Saints Academy, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home
