Lauren D. "Whitie" Berger, 76, of New Memphis died Tuesday April 8, 2003 at his residence

He was born December 27, 1926 in Trenton to Peter and Elsie (Kuhn) Berger: they preceded him in death

Also preceded in death by a son James Berger, a daughter Deborah Berger and a sister Jean Vandas

He married Shirley Breitweiser 1952 in Alton, IL and she preceded him in death October 10, 2002

He also married Carol Tripp in September 20, 1968 Carlyle, IL and she preceded him in death July 9, 1978

Surviving is a son Michael Berger of Rockville, IN

Daughters Chris (Dan) Holtmann of Albers, Carol Ann (Jim) Adkins of Davidson NC, Tanya Brown of Swansea

6 grandchildren Michael Berger Jr., Peter Berger, Christine Berger, Nicole Holtmann, Lindsay Holtmann, and Lauren Brown

A brother Laurel "Blackie" (Elaine) Berger of Fairview Heights

Whitie as retired from Sate of Illinois Department of Transportation and an Army Veteran of WWII

Member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Memphis, Trenton Masonic Lodge 109 and Ainad Temple Shriner’s East St. Louis

Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 11, 2003 at 4:00 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Dr. Michael Berger officiating

Visitation will be held on Friday April 11, 2003 from 2:00 PM to time of Services at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home
