Mathias J. "Matt" Haukap, 92, of Germantown died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Carlyle Healthcare Center

He was born February 15, 1911 in Germantown to John Frank and Elizabeth (Albers) Haukap; they preceded him in death

He married Dorothy Albers on January 23, 1940 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; she preceded him in death on December 9, 1998

Also preceded in death by a daughter Irlene Varel

Brothers Bernard, Herman, and Lawrence Haukap

A Sister Dorothy Koehling

A Son-in-Law Tom Haake

Surviving is a son Roger Haukap of Damiansville

Two daughters Marilyn Haake of Germantown and Francelia (Stanley) Huegen of Albers

Sisters Agnes Eversgerd of Germantown, Marie Huff of St. Louis, and Wilhelmina Pfitzer of Florida

A Son-in-Law Edwin "Ep" Varel of Carlyle

9 Grandchildren & 11 Great-Grandchildren

Matt was a Plumber and Shop Foreman at Scott Air Force Base

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Germantown Senior Citizens, Former member of the Germantown Fire Department, and a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in Germantown

Memorial Mass Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 10 AM at St. Boniface Church in Germantown with Fr. Stephen Humphery officiating. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Church or to the donor’s Choice and will be received at church or through Moss Funeral Home in Germantown who is in charge of the arrangements.
