Vincent F. Langenhorst, 80, of Beaver Prairie died Tuesday November 18, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese

He was born May 11, 1923 in rural Germantown to Bernard and Rose (Leonard) Langenhorst; they preceded him in death

Also preceded in death by brothers; Ben Langenhorst, Clarence "Johnny" Langenhorst, and Wilbert "Whip" Langenhorst

Also preceded in death by A Sister Marie Beer and a half brother Lavern Wobbe

Also preceded in death by Brothers-in-law Bernard Pingsterhaus, Ben Rakers, Tony Rakers, Vincent Kalmer, Al Rakers, and David Heimann; sisters-in-law Clara Rakers, Dolores Rakers and Agnes Wobbe

He married Dolores Rakers on September 21, 1948 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she survives in Beaver Prairie

Also surviving are sons Leon (Shirley) Langenhorst of St. Rose, Vincent Langenhorst of Beaver Prairie, Douglas (Angelines) Langenhorst of Madrid, Spain, and Mike Langenhorst of Beaver Prairie

Daughters Arlene (Jack) Cassady of Versailles, Mary (Eldon) Gaffner of Pocahontas, Trudy (Friend Tom Isaak) Langenhorst of Carlyle, Helen (Lester) Huels of Carlyle, Sharon (Steve) Kauling of Carlyle, Alice (Don) Schwierjohn of Breese, Barb (David) Hempen of Carlyle

28 Grandchildren & 13 Great-Grandchildren

Sisters-in-law Leona Langenhorst of Bartelso, Bernadette Langenhorst of Germantown, Leona Rakers of Aviston, Rita Rakers of Aviston, and Annie Kalmer of Trenton, Rita (Vic) Kalmer of Damiansville, Mary "Sally" (Robert) Haselhorst of Breese, Johanna Heimann of Fairview Heights, and Julie (Walter) Toennies of New Baden

Brothers-in-law Ray Beer of Germantown, Charles Rakers of Aviston, Jim (Marilyn) Rakers of Aviston

Vincent was a retired farmer and a Navy Veteran of WW II

He was a member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church in Beaver Prairie, Carlyle VFW Post 3523, Breese American Legion Post 252, and a past member of Beckemeyer American Legion Post 1227

Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 21, 2003 at 11 AM at St. Felicitas Catholic Church in Beaver Prairie with Fr. Larry Nickels officiating. Interment will follow at St. Felicitas Cemetery in Beaver Prairie

Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 4 to 9 PM and again on Friday, November 21, 2003 from 8 to 10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese

Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:30 PM Thursday night at the Funeral Home

Memorials can be made to St. Felicitas Church or St. Theresa Church and will be received at the Funeral Home
