Kenward F. “Sparky” Meddows 85 of Trenton died Thursday August 31, 2006 at his residence 

He was born July 16, 1921 in O’Fallon, IL to Newman and Elizabeth (Ellison) Meddows: they preceded him in death

 He married Marcella “Sally” Korte April 30, 1949 in St. Louis, MO and she preceded him in death July 20, 2000

 Also preceded in death by brothers Leavern, Gilbert and Donald Meddows, a sister Jane Saville, and a grandson Nathan Meddows 

Surviving are his sons Kenneth N. (Mary Kay “Mickey”) Meddows of Swansea, David R. (Lynn) Meddows of Trenton

 5 grandchildren Dr. Christina Meddows of Staten Island NY, Melissa and Michael Meddows of Swansea, Ryan and Cami Meddows of Trenton 

A brother Clifford (Lois) Meddows of Trenton

 A sister Sarah “Sally” (Leland “Skip”) Louden of Trenton

 Sparky was a retired member of 51 years from the E. St. Louis Labor Local 100.  

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton, VFW Post 7983 of Trenton, American Legion Post 778 of Trenton, and Knights of Columbus council #2932 in Trenton.

 Sparky also served his country proudly as a Medical Jeep driver during WWII in Germany, He was an outstanding husband and father, who loved his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, daily visits with his brother and neighbors and watching old movies, TV programs and Cardinal baseball games on TV.

 Funeral mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2006 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Donald Blaes Officiating. Interment St. Mary cemetery in Trenton

 Visitation will be held on Monday September 4 from 4 to 9 PM and on Tuesday September 5 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton

 Trenton VFW and American Legion will hold services at 7:30 Pm on Monday at the funeral home. Knights of Columbus services at 8:00 PM 

Memorials can be made to the Trenton Park Boosters Club, St. Mary Church and will be received at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton
