Arthur T. “Art” Gebke 78 of Germantown died Wednesday May 7, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese 

He was born November 28, 1929 in Bartelso to John and Mary (Mueller) Gebke: they preceded him death 

Also preceded in death by a brothers Eugene in infancy, Roman and Arnold Gebke, Sisters Josephine Kapp and Mary Winkeler, brothers-in-law Harold Kapp and Frank “Bud” Winkeler, sister-in-law Irene Gebke 

He married Joan Schmitt November 27, 1970 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and she survives 

Also surviving are sons Mike Gebke of Breese, Chris (Dawn) Gebke of Carlyle, Steve (Becky) Gebke of Tamalco 

A daughter Sharon Anstedt of New Baden 

5 grandchildren Clarissa and Mikaela Fischer, Zachary, Emily and Abby Gebke 

Brothers John (Betty) Gebke of Bartelso, Al (Rosann) Gebke of Breese 

Brothers-in-law John (Marge) Schmitt of Mascoutah, Bob (Mary) Schmitt of Maryland Heights, MO, Joe (Becky) Schmitt of Trenton 

sisters-in-law Rose Bulus of Hazelwood, MO, Marge Johnson of Festus, MO, Kay Schmitt of O’Fallon, MO 

Art owned and operated Gebke Farm Supply in Carlyle for over 25 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War 

Member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Bartelso American Legion Post 976, Catholic War Veterans and Veterans of Foreign War 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday May 12, at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso 

Visitation will be held On Sunday May 11 from 4 to 9 PM and on Monday May 12 from8 to10:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown 

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Foundation and will be received at the funeral home
