Rita M. Hemker, nee Beckmann, 81, of Germantown, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at her residence. 

She was born September 7, 1926 in Bartelso, to George and Lucy (Meyer) Beckmann; they preceded her in death. 

She married Vincent Hemker on September 5, 1950 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso; he preceded her in death on May 15, 1997. 

Also preceded in death by brothers, Frank Beckmann and William Beckmann, a sister-in-law, Frances Beckmann, and a son-in-law, Gary Wessling. 

Surviving is her children, Joseph (Carol) Hemker of Bartelso, James (Judy) Hemker of Bartelso, Betty (Bernard) Budde of Bartelso, Shirley Budde of Bartelso, Glen (Pat) Hemker of Bartelso, Sue (Ron) Fuehne of Bartelso, Karen (Stanley) Budde of Bartelso, Doris Wessling of Carlyle, and Thomas (Sandy) Hemker of Bartelso.  

19 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Granddaughter. 

A Brother, Alvin Beckmann of Bartelso, and sisters, Eleanor (Tony) Lengermann of Highland, Alice (John) Wellen of Highland, Dorothy (Alphonse) Pollmann of Carlyle, and Lue (Wendell) Loepker of Breese. 

Sisters-in-law, Christine Beckmann of Germantown, Bernadine Hemker of Bartelso, and Marie Hemker of Bartelso. 

Rita was a homemaker. 

She was a member of St. Boniface Church and Altar Sodality in Germantown, and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 8:00-10:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made Clinton County Special Olympics or to St. Boniface Cemetery and will be received at the funeral home.
