Eugene H. "Gene" Kline, 76, of Trenton, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at his residence

He was born December 10, 1927 in Old Ripley, IL to Albert J. and Florence (Kroeck) Kline; they preceded him in death

Also Preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Kline; a sister-in-law, Marian Kline; a brother-in-law, Kenneth "Buster" Watson; and a nephew, Douglas Kline

He married Barbara Rizer on December 9, 1960 in Edwardsville, IL; she survives in Trenton

Also surviving are daughters Wendy (Rich) McIntyre and Trudy (special friend Chuck Kezirian) Kline, both of Trenton

Also surviving are his beloved granddaughters, Kelsey and Caitlan McIntyre

Also surviving are sisters Viola (Walter) Butler of New Douglas, and Dorothy Watson of Hardy, Arkansas

Also surviving is a brother Albert (Helen) Kline of Bunker Hill

7 Nieces and 5 Nephews and many Great Nieces and Great Nephews

Also surviving are daughters Ginger and Karey, and a son Garth 

Gene retired from Civil Service with the US Government and was an US Air Force Veteran

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Trenton VFW Post 7983, Aviston American Legion Post 1239, Founding Member of the Trenton Lions, Lifetime Member of the North American Fishing Club, and Lifetime Member of the Handyman Club of America

Gene enjoyed Woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, cooking, and playing cards

Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 10 AM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Thomas Perl officiating. Interment will follow at Trenton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2004 from 4 to 9 PM and again on Saturday, February 21, 2004 from 8 to 9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Trenton VFW will hold services at 7: 30 PM and Aviston American Legion will hold services at 8 PM both Friday Night at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to St. John United Church of Christ and will be received at the funeral home
