            Art Kueneke, 87, 
            of Breese died Thursday March 20, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in 
            Belleville.  
            Art worked 31 
            years for Commercial Transport, a member of St. Augustine Church, 
            Breese; a 63 year member of the Breese American Legion and past 
            commander, and the Breese Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed camping, 
            traveling and wood carving.  He was a veteran of the US Army during 
            WWII serving in the European theater in chemical warfare services.  
            He was born in 
            Breese February 1, 1921 to William and Elizabeth (Kreke) Kueneke and 
            they preceded him in death. 
            He married Estelle 
            Richter May 8, 1946 in St. Dominic Church Breese and she died April 
            27, 1987.  
            Survivors include 
            2 daughters Janice (Dan) Suhl of Breese and Gerene (Chuck) Vincent 
            of Festus Missouri and very Special friend Pearl Richter of Breese: 
            3 grandchildren Christy (Stephen) Schappe, Ashlie (Josh) Winkeler, 
            and Michael Vincent; 2 great grandchildren Ethan Rhodes and Gracie 
            Schappe; sisters Evelyn Nordmann of Carlyle, Mildred Hitpas of 
            Breese and Mary Ann “Dolly” Harris of Deer Park Texas. 
            Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Casper Richter, R. Joseph and 
            Barbara Richter, Lorene and Gene Niemeyer and Jane Vahlkamp all of 
            Breese.  
            He was preceded in 
            death by a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Marcella Kueneke, 
            brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank Nordmann, Joseph Hitpas, 
            Horton Harris, and Jack Vahlkamp; Dorothy Richter,  Ray and Aloisia 
            Richter, Norbert and Flora Richter, Richard and Dorothy Richter.   
            Mass of Christian 
            Burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 25 at 10 Am at St. Augustine 
            Church in Breese with Father Henry Fischer and Deacon Robert Lippert 
            officiating, interment will be in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery 
            Breese.  Friend may call at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese Monday 
            from 4 to 9 Pm and Tuesday from 8 to 9:45 Am. 
            Memorials can be 
            made to St. Augustine Church and will be accepted at the funeral 
            home.  Breese American Legion services Monday at & PM and Knights of 
            Columbus rosary at 7:30 Pm at the funeral home. |
