Esther Luebbers, nee Rohde, 79, of Carlyle, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Aviston Countryside Manor. 

Mrs. Luebbers was born July 27, 1929 in St. Rose to Fred and Josephine (Weidner) Rohde; they preceded her in death. 

She married Stanley C. Trowbridge on November 13, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1962.  She then married Alfred “Otto” Poelker on August 6, 1966 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1993.  She married Anthony “Tony” Luebbers on September 6, 1997 and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Cohoon-Rovertoni; a son, S. Mark Trowbridge; a brother, Fred Rohde; and a brother-in-law, David Smith. 

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Signaigo of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy (Perry) Turnbull of Chesterfield, MO, and Monica (Rick) Allen of Oklahoma City, OK; her step-children, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Luebbers of Oakton, VA, Cheryl (Joe) Kalmer of Edwardsville, IL, Joe Luebbers of Avon, IN, and Joline (John) Schlueter of Bartelso; 6 Grandchildren. Lorien (Tim) Schleper,  Janel (John) Davinroy, Noel Signaigo, Travis Turnbull, Tara Turnbull, and Amanda Allen; 7 Step-Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Jenna Cohoon, Will Schleper, Bennett Schleper, Andrew Schleper, Michael Davinroy, and Alexa Davinroy; Brothers, Robert Rohde of Oklahoma, Daniel (Debbie) Rohde of Arkansas, and David (Helen) Rohde of Decatur; and Sisters, Ethel Smith of Daytona Beach, FL and Mabel (Tom) Wheelan of Beckemeyer. 

Esther sold Avon Cosmetics for over 30 years.  She was a member of St. Mary Church, Carlyle. 

A Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church, Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck  officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
