Alvina J. Feldmann, nee Rakers, 90 of Aviston, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Aviston Countryside Manor. 

Mrs. Feldmann was born September 26, 1919 in Aviston, IL to Henry G. and Theresia (Wilke) Rakers; they preceded her in death. 

She married Aloys Feldmann on April 24, 1940 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Aviston, IL; he preceded her in death on April 16, 2000. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Henrietta Mondt-Septeowski and Dorothy Kalmer; brothers, John Rakers and Edward Rakers; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al Septeowski, Joe Mondt, Barney and Leona Feldmann, Joe and Virginia Feldmann, and Katherine and Steve Litteken. 

Surviving are her children, Robert (Pat) Feldmann and Janet (Rev. Wayland) Middendorf all of Aviston, IL; 4 Grandchildren, Connie Brown, Jeanette Craig, Wayland (Michelle) Middendorf, Jr., and Stewart Middendorf; 10 Great-Grandchildren, Krystal Feldmann, Tammy, Thomas, and William Brown, Andru Craig, Angela Carless, Haley, Tyler, and Dylan Middendorf, and Ryan Middendorf; 1 Great-Great-Grandson, Tristen Brown; a sister, Rita “Butch” (Cletus) Fuehne of Damiansville; a sister-in-law, Clara Rakers of Breese; and a brother-in-law, Robert Kalmer of Damiansville. 

Alvina formerly worked as a housekeeper at several houses in the area and as a cook at the Trenton House Restaurant in Trenton, the Amman Restaurant in Highland, and the Wil-Char Restaurant in Breese.   

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Ladies Sodality in Aviston, Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Auxiliary of the Ursella Sisters, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, and a former volunteer at the Breese Nursing Home and Aviston Countryside Manor.  Alvina was also an avid card player and loved to quilt. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Aviston with Fr. Daniel Friedman officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Aviston, IL. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 12, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese and again on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 9:00-10:45 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Aviston. 

A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM and the Daughters of Isabella will recite the Rosary at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. 

Memorials can be made to St. Francis Church Cemetery Fund or to Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received at the funeral home or at the church.
