Geraldine M. “Gerry” Schomaker, nee Dittmer, 82, of Trenton, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Faith Countryside Home in Highland.

Mrs. Schomaker was born October 31, 1926 in Trenton, IL to Emil and Lydia (Vaninger) Dittmer; they preceded her in death. 

She married Francis “Bud” Schomaker on November 11, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton; he preceded her in death on April 23, 1998. 

Also preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Bray Schneider and Marilyn Joellenbeck; brothers-in-law, Paul Bray, Willard Joellenbeck, and Eugene Schneider; and a nephew, Norman Kollmann. 

Surviving are nephews and nieces, Harold (Bette) Bray of Trenton, Diana (Robert) Schneider of Highland, Janice (Keith ) Vogt of Highland, Linda (Rodney) Brockmann of Okawville, Darrell Joellenbeck of Okawville, Carol (Rick) Amann of Galveston, TX, Anna Margaret (Bill) Thole of New Baden, Elaine (Russ) Huegen of Albers, Steve (Marilyn) Kollmann of New Baden, Mary (Wayne) Black of Trenton, Susie (Jerry) Drees of Trenton, David Schomaker of Valencia, CA, Helen (Lee) Brooks of Florissant, MO, Theresa Kollmann of Trenton, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Gerry retired as a bank teller at the Community Bank of Trenton and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton. 

Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Linzey Collins, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton

Visitation will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to the church or to Faith Countryside Home-Freedom Wing Activity Fund and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is in charge of the arrangements.
