    Adeline R. Holtmann, age 91, of Germantown, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home.

     

    Mrs. Holtmann was born a farmer’s daughter on December 21, 1926 in Germantown to the late Bernard J. and Eugenia, nee Ripperda, Thuenemann.

     

    She became a farmer’s wife on May 9, 1957 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown when she married Raymond Holtmann and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2010.

     

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Clara Richard and her husband Roland and Pauline Frohn and her husband Leonard; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice Toennies, Loretta and Cal Schwend, Ruth and Ron Huegen, Dolores and Cyril Poettker, Clarence and Isabelle Holtmann, and Bill Spaeth.

     

    Surviving are her sons, Glennon (Kimberly) Holtmann of Germantown and Steven (Anita) Holtmann of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Scott (Fran) Holtmann and Kelly (Jake) Perez all of Germantown, Ryan and Ashley Holtmann; great-grandchildren, Landon, Jason, and Peyton Holtmann and Anna and Allie Perez; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Spaeth of Trenton, David (Dot) Holtmann of New Baden, and Adrian (Trudy) Toennies of Trenton; and nieces and nephews.

     

    Adeline was a homemaker and the family caretaker, tending to her parents and husband when they needed her most, and also looked after her grandchildren when they were younger and most recently her great-grandchildren. Her greatest loves were stitching, St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she dedicated her time and talents in all aspects but must of all spending time with her family.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster presiding. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

     

    Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

     

    Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
