    Edwin A. Trame, age 96, of Breese and formerly of Beckemeyer, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his residence.

     

    He was born November 20, 1921 in Bartelso, a son of the late Edward and Margaret, nee Budde, Trame.

     

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lester Trame; grandson, Brent Trame; siblings, Alphonse Trame and wife Viola, Agnes Huelsmann and husband Joseph, Henry Trame, Helen Horstmann, and Leona Wiegmann and husband Edward; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Alfred Korte, Wilbert and Valeria Korte, Adele and Raymond Jansen, Dorothy Timmermann, and Louis Korte.

     

    Surviving are his wife Loretta, nee Korte, Trame of Breese, whom he married October 22, 1946 in St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers; children, Donna (Stan) Kampwerth of Bartelso, Dr. Eldon (Dr. Anne Stewart) Trame, MD of Belleville, Michael (Dolores) Trame of Highland, Barb (Dave “Rip” ) Glaub of Breese, and Steve (Angie) Trame of Champaign; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with another soon to arrive; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lucille Trame of Beckemeyer, Clarence Horstmann of Breese, Wilbert Timmermann of Albers, and Arlene Korte of Damiansville.

     

    Edwin was a former dairy farmer and retired as an inspector from American Steel in Granite City. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer where he was a former eucharistic minister and funeral server, and the United Steelworkers of America Local 1063. Edwin enjoyed playing cards and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

     

    Memorial Mass will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Beckemeyer.

     

    Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer.

     

    In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund, Mater Dei High School, or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Breese who is serving the Trame family.
