    Kayla L. Satterfield, 20, of Carlyle, born December 22, 1992 in Belleville, IL died Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

    Surviving is her mother, Darla (Deien) Satterfield and friend Jack Webster of Carlyle; her father, Jack Satterfield and friend Karen Isaak of Carlyle; a brother Chad Satterfield of New Baden; maternal grandmother, Francelia (Wuest) Deien of Trenton; paternal grandmother, Dolores (Witt) Satterfield of Trenton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Vincent Deien; paternal grandfather, Charles Satterfield; maternal great-grandparents, Arthur and Laura Wuest, Verena and Vincent Deien; and paternal great-grandparents, Hazel and Ike Satterfield, and Oliver Witt.

    Kayla was a 2011 graduate of Carlyle High School where she was a member of the Student Council, FFA, FBLA, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Tomahawk Club, and participated on the volleyball team and school play. She graduated in 2013 from Kaskaskia College with a general Associate degree where she was named to the Dean’s List and President’s List. She was currently working toward a Bachelor Degree in Social Work at SIUE.

    Kayla was currently working at the Carlyle Healthcare Center as a CNA and attended the First Baptist Church in Carlyle.

    Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Mark Goldman officiating. Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2013 from 2:00-7:00 pm and again on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

    Memorials can be made to Multiple Sclerosis Research or to Big Brothers and Big Sisters and will be received at the funeral home.
