Mrs. Simms was born November 8, 1930 in Hammond, IN, a daughter of the late Nikola and Milka, nee Cziegler, Pievac.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Simms whom she married in 1951 and he died December 29, 1997; a son, Rory Simms; and sisters Mary (John) Tubich, Ann (George) Platisha, Ruby (Roy) Blanchard, Dorothy (Al) Van Lul, Helen (Dan) Heggi, Lucille (Firman) Bowersox, and Sally (Lee) Darrow.

Stella retired as a teller from US Bank and Regions Bank and attended West Gate Baptist Church in Trenton. Her hobbies consisted of gardening, cooking, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Dancing with the Stars. Her greatest pride were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and she was thoroughly loved by her nieces and nephews so much that she was like a second mother. Stella was a caring person and was a devoted wife of a Church of God Minister and will be missed by all who knew her.
