Donata M. Absher, nee Schroeder, 47 of Carlyle and formerly of Bartelso, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. 

She was born June 23, 1961 in Breese to Frank and Agnes (Hustedde) Schroeder, Sr.; they survive in Bartelso. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son Robert Absher of Carlyle; sisters, Carol (Kerry) Price of Washington, MO, Rebecca (Gene) Price of Bourbon, MO. Diane (Terry) Storey of Ina, IL, Marilyn (Joseph) Ottenschnieder of Germantown, and Shelly (Darvin) Zeisset of Aviston; and brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Schroeder of Bartelso, Kevin (Karen) Schroeder of Breese, Frank Schroeder, Jr. of Germantown,  Steven (Lisa) Schroeder of Bartelso, and Timothy (Stacy) Schroeder of Albers. 

Donata was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herman and Martha (Lake) Hustedde, and her paternal grandparents, Henry and Caroline (Eilers) Schroeder. 

She worked as a dietary aid at Aviston Countryside Manor and was member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle where she was the Kindergarten PSR Teacher. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer and Fr. George Mauck officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso. 

Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2009 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 11:00-1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
