Arvel L. Bauer 77 of Trenton died Tuesday June 6, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville

He was born October 29, 1929 in Summerfield, IL to Albert and Pearl (Wahl) Bauer: they preceded him, in death

He married Katherine Schmidt June 15, 1951 in Belleville and she preceded him in death March 13, 2000

 Surviving are sons Mike Bauer of Anna, Jim Bauer of Trenton

 Daughters Debbie (Gary) Detmer of Breese, Tina (Greg) Woodcock of Summerfield

 4 grandchildren Todd (fiancée Angel Roberts) Detmer, Travis Detmer, Cody Detmer, Dylan Woodcock

 A sister Arlene “Sis” (Lenny) Drda of Highland

 Arvel retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service, retired US Postal service, also worked as manager of the Trenton VFW and a bartender at Mike’s Place in Summerfield

 Member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, VFW Post 7983 in Trenton, American Legion Post 778 in Trenton

 Funeral service will be held on Friday June 8 at 10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Fr. James Dougherty officiating Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton

 Visitation will be held on Thursday June 7 from 4 to 8 PM and on Friday June 8 from 9 to 10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton

 Memorials can be made to the Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home

 VFW and American Legion member s will hold services at 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home
