He was born July 29, 1913 in Breese to Emil and Frieda (Guttersohn)
Becker; they preceded him in death
He married Eleanor Ziesset on October 12, 1942; she preceded him
in death on April 5, 1959
He then married Alice Quitmeyer-Stein on May 26, 1962; she
preceded him in death on May 12, 1982
Also preceded in death by a grandson Brent "Butch"
Becker and a sister Viola Lawrence
Surviving is his wife Betty Bishop-Gassmann whom he married
September 17, 1983 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in
Trenton; she survives in Trenton
Two Sons Harold (Carolyn) Becker of Trenton and Mark (Kathleen)
Becker of Decatur
Stepchildren Joyce (Rich) Fritz of Trenton, Elaine "Tootie"
(Larry) Heatherly of Columbia, Susan (Michael) Constance of
Belleville, and Christine (Ronald) Becker of Trenton
Grandchildren Bruce Becker, Brian Becker, Michelle Huelsmann,
Kimberly Becker, Kristine Becker, Michael Becker, Katrina Becker,
and Matthew Becker

Emmett was a retired body repair man at Oliver C. Joseph in
Belleville
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton,
Trenton Masonic Lodge 109, Machinist Local 313 Belleville, and
Trenton American Legion Post 778 and a Veteran of WWII
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 10 Am at St.
John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Thomas Perl
officiating. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery in Trenton.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from 4 to 9 PM and
again on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 from 8 to 9:45 AM at the Moss
Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and
will be received at the funeral home
