Joseph B. Detmer, 77, of Trenton died Wednesday, May
14, 2003 at his residence
He was born October 28, 1925 in Damiansville to Joseph H. and
Wilhelmina (Wesselmann) Detmer; they preceded him in death
Also preceded in death by a son; Steven Detmer, a daughter; Mary
Bernadette Detmer, brothers; Ted and Donald Detmer,
sisters; Sr. Dolores Detmer ASC and Evelyn Detmer Sisters-in-law;
Pat Detmer and Agnes Detmer Brother-in-law; Henry Hemker
He married Bernadette Hagen on October 29, 1952 at St. Augustine
Church in Breese; she survives in Trenton
Also Surviving are sons Kenneth (Maureen) Detmer of Lodi, WI, Tom
(Maribeth) Detmer of Breese, Jim (Mika) Detmer of Trenton, and Eric
(Christina) Detmer of Breese
Daughters Connie (Kent) Robben of Breese and Christine Detmer of
Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Breese, IL and Shiloh Valley Equipment, and was in inventory and

He was a member of St. Mary Church and Men’s Sodality, Trenton
Knights of Columbus Council 2932, Past Commander of Trenton VFW Post
7983, Trenton American Legion Post 778, Trenton Sportsmen Club,
Trenton Senior Citizens, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Mater Dei
Fathers and Friends, Golf Ranger at Governor’s Run Golf Course,
and an Army Vereran of WWII
Funeral Mass will be Saturday May 17, 2003 at 10:30 AM at St.
Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating.
Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton
Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2003 from 4 to 9 PM and again
on Saturday, May 17, 2003 from 8 to 10:15 AM at the Moss Funeral
Home in Trenton
Trenton VFW will hold services at 7:30 PM and Trenton Knights of
Columbus will hold Services at 8 PM Friday night at the Funeral Home
Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School, All Saints
Academy, or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the
funeral home
