Leon G. "Blackie" Eversgerd 60 of New Baden died Sunday May 25, 2003 at his hunting cabin in Birch Tree MO

He was born September 12, 1942 in Germantown to Frank and Veronica (Netemeyer) Eversgerd: the preceded him in death

Also preceded in death by a brother LeRoy Eversgerd and a brother-in-law Ronald Haas

He is survived by two brothers Franklin (Marian) Eversgerd of New Baden, Wilbert "Pete" (JoAnn) Eversgerd of Breese

A sister Carol Haas of Albers

A sister-in-law Alice Eversgerd of Germantown

Numerous nieces and nephews

Blackie was a truck driver with Haiar Plumbing in Okawville and past owner of Blackie’s Tavern in Damiansville

Member of St. Boniface Church in Germantown, Teamsters Local 50, Clinton County Tavern Owners Association, Illinois License Beverage Association, Rack Hunter Club

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday May 29, 2003 at 10 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Stephen Humphrey officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 28 from 4 to 9 PM and on Thursday May 29 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown

Memorials can be made to Clinton County Relay for Life or the American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral home
