Marie Graesser 88 of Trenton died Tuesday October 28, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Bellville 

She was born April 8, 1920 in Trenton to Emil and Mary (Huelsmann) Graesser: they preceded her in death 

Also preceded in death by brothers Elmer and Carl Graesser, a sister-in-law Cora Graesser 

Survivng is a sister Wilma Graesser of Trenton and cousins 

Marie was a retired school teacher. She taught in Toledo High School, Toledo, IL for 1 year, and New Baden High School for 8 years and Mascoutah High School for 28 years.  

She graduated from Trenton high School. She earned her BA from Southern Illinois Normal University, She received her masters at Indiana University. She continued her education at University of Illinois and University of Montana in Missoula 

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton, the Women’s fellowship, J.O.Y Society. Past Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Delta Kappa Gamma, Pi Lambda Theta, Delta Pi Epsilon, Illinois retired Teachers Association, Clinton County Historical Society and treasurer for 20 years, Charter Member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Belleville                                                                                                     

Marie loved to travel and read. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and basketball fan. Before Trenton had a library, children would come to her house and borrow and read her books. 

Funeral service will be held on Friday October 31, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett and Pastor Joey Feldmann officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery 

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 30 from 3 to 9 pm and Friday October 31 from 9 to 10:15 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton 

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. John United Church of Christ or Clinton County Historical Society and will be received at the funeral home
