Dorothy L. Kalmer, nee Rakers, 78, of Damiansville,
died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at her residence
She was born August 18, 1925 in Aviston to Henry T. and Theresia
(Wilke) Rakers; they preceded her in death
Also preceded in death by a son Kenneth Kalmer, a granddaughter
Traci Lynn Beckmann, Brothers Edward Rakers and John Rakers, a
Sister Henrietta Mondt-Septeowski, and brothers-in-law Aloys
Feldmann, Joe Mondt, and Al Septeowski, and nephews Michael Rakers,
Donald Fuehne, and Ronald Haas
She married Robert Kalmer on May 20, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic
Church in Aviston; he survives in Damiansville
Also surviving are sons Garry (Sharon) Kalmer, Michael Kalmer,
and Kevin (Ann) Kalmer all of Damiansville
Also surviving are daughters Marilyn (Jerry) Beckmann of
Highland, Linda (Robert) Athmer of Aviston, Beverly (Terry) Gebke of
Bartelso, Mary Kay (Ron) Langenhorst of Germantown, and Karen (Dan)
Seelhoefer of Bartelso
19 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren
Also surviving are sisters Alvina Feldmann of Aviston and Rita
"Butch" (Cletus) Fuehne of Damiansville
Also surviving are sisters-in-law Clara Rakers of Breese and
Annie Kalmer of Trenton
Dorothy along with her husband co-owned Kalmer Lumber and Pallet
in Damiansville where she also served as the Secretery
She was a member of St. Damian Church and Altar Sodality
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 11 AM at St.
Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Fr. Donald Eichenseer
officiating. Interment will follow at St. Damian Cemetery,
Damiansville
Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2004 from 4 to 9 PM and
again on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 8 to 10:30 AM at the Moss
Funeral Home in Germantown.
Memorials can be made to Clinton County Relay for Life or to the
American Diabetes Association and will be received at the Funeral
