Lawrence J. Kassen, 90, of Breese,
died Monday, May 23, 2005 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese
He was born January 24, 1915 in
Albers to Bernard and Mary (Hilmes) Kassen; they preceded him in
death
Also preceded in death by sisters,
Bernadine Meyer and Rita Smith, and brothers-in-law, Frank Meyer,
Victor Smith, William Middendorff, and Harry Geissert
He married Marie Wesselmann on
April 12, 1950 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese; she
survives in Germantown
Also surviving is a son Raymond
Kassen of Greenville, and a daughter, Linda Riser of E. Alton
4 Grandchildren-Natalie (Abraham)
Gandy of Nashville, Craig, Amber, Corey Riser all of E. Alton
A brother-Clarence (Florence) Kassen
of Albers
Sisters-Pauline Geissert of Mt.
Zion and Frances Middendorff of New Baden
Lawrence worked for Boeckmann Milk
Hauling and Al Holtmann Milk Hauling in Breese
He was a member of St. Augustine
Catholic Church and Breese American Legion Post 252
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May
26, 2005 at 10 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with
Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St.
Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese
Visitation will be Wednesday, May
25, 2005 from 4 to 9 PM and again on Thursday, May 26, 2005 from
8 to 9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral
Home in Breese.
Breese American Legion will hold
services at 7:30 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home
Memorials can be made to the family
and will be received at the funeral home
