She was born May 15, 1907 in Bartelso to John and Caroline (Roberg) Varel: they preceded her in death

She married Ben Koopmann May 15, 1935 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1966

Also preceded in death by a son Bernie Koopmann, a daughter Bertha Carvar

Grandchildren Dana Carvar, Dan Carvar, Tammy Koopmann and Ashley Koopmann

Brothers Herman, Joseph and Tony Varel & Sisters Cecilia Koopmann and Ann Varel

She is survived by sons Ralph (Bernadine) Koopmann of Damiansville, Leonard (Betty) Koopmann of Bartelso, Norbert (Joan) Koopmann of Bartelso and Albert Koopmann of Bartelso

Daughters Rita (Joe) Deiters of Beckemeyer, Mary (Jerry) Grawe of Bartelso, & Betty (Jim) Varel of Bartelso

Daughter in law Phyllis Koopmann of Breese

A brother Ed "Red" Varel of Bartelso

Funeral Mass Wednesday March 5 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, IL with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. Interment St. Cecilia Cemetery

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 4 from 4 to 9 PM and on Wednesday March 5 from 10 am to 1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral home in Germantown

Memorials can be made to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or to the Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home
