He was born January 26, 1918 in Breese Twsp. to Bernard and Theresa (Alberternst) Schroer; they preceded him in death

He married Vera Lott on September 4, 1946 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Normandy, MO; she preceded him in death on October 2, 2002

Also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Schroer

Also preceded in death by brothers, Ferdinand Schroer, Francis Schroer, Arnold Schroer, and Alphonse Schroer

Also preceded in death by sisters, Della Elling, Dorothy Sommers, and Marie Reynolds

Surviving are daughters, Beth (Marvin) Meier of Breese, Barbara (John) Rinderer of Aviston, and Mary Schroer of St. Rose

5 Grandchildren-Joseph Meier, Karen Meier, Daniel Rinderer, Erin Rinderer, and Jeff Rinderer

Also surviving is a brother, Arthur (Gwen) Schroer of St. Louis

Oscar was a retired farmer and an Army Veteran of WWII

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality and Breese American Legion Post 252

Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 19, 2003 at 11 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 18, 2003 from 4 to 9 PM and again on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 8 to 10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese

The Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:30 PM Thursday night at the funeral home
