Victor F. “Vic” Straeter 84 of St. Rose Died Tuesday November 29, 2005 at St. Joseph hospital in Breese

He was born June 18, 1921 in St. Rose to Frank and Elizabeth (Schrage) Straeter and they preceded him in death

Also preceded in death by a son Frank Straeter, Brother Alphonse Straeter, Sisters Rosemary Straeter and Veronica Ratermann, a brother-in-law Harold Stoff

He married Mary Schumacher May 1, 1946 at St. Rose Church and she survives in St. Rose

Also surviving are sons Virgil (Janice) Straeter of Highland, Jim (Melinda) Straeter of Rochester IN

Daughters Margie (Mike) Detmer of St. Rose, Eileen (Gary Kerr) Straeter of Springfield, Diane (Joe) Urzi of St. Louis, Lori (Ross) Campbell of Rochester MN

A daughter in law Vicki Straeter of O’Fallon

22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

A brother Lawrence (Marie) Straeter of St. Rose

A sister Ann Stoff of Highland

Vic formerly owned and operated Straeter Equipment in St. Rose

Member of St. Rose church, men’s sodality and former choir member, St. Rose Development Club, St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department and past fire chief, Original Board member of St. Rose Water District, Former chairman of St. Rose Sewer District, and past chairman of St. Rose picnic 

Funeral mass will be held on Friday Dec. 2, 2005 at 2:00 PM at St. Rose Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment St. Rose Cemetery

Visitation will be held on Thursday Dec. 1 from 4 to 9 PM and on Friday Dec. 2, from 11 am to 1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese

Memorials can be made to St. Rose Church, St. Rose Development Club and will be received at the funeral home
