Cletus B. Toennies 72 of Germantown died Friday April 8, 2005 at St. Joseph hospital in Breese

 He was born March 31, 1933 in Damiansville, to Joseph and Margaret (Santel) Toennies: they preceded him in death

 Also preceded in death by a brother Norman Toennies and sisters Emma Toennies and Lucille Albers

 He married Bernette Beer August 19, 1959 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and she survives in Germantown

 Also surviving are sons Jeff (Monica) Toennies of Highland, Chuck (Barb) Toennies of Troy, Carl (Darla) Toennies of Albers, Andy (Special friend Beth Cherry) Toennies of St. Rose, Ryan (Angie) Toennies of Breese

 Daughters Marla (Don) Langenhorst of Germantown, Michelle (Kevin) McElfresh of St. Peters, MO

 15 grandchildren

 Brothers Alvin (Rita) Toennies of Damiansville, Walter (Julie) Toennies of New Baden, Jerry (Sharon) Toennies of Waterloo, Joe (Jane) Toennies of Breese

 Sisters Marie (Greg) Niemeyer of Breese, Bim (Frank) Fuehne of Damiansville, Jan (Tom) Eversgerd of Germantown, Germaine (Herb) Schulte of Trenton

 Cletus was retired from farming. A devoted family man to his wife of 45 years and to his 7 children and 15 grandchildren. He enjoyed his many years of farming, and had a love of fishing and outdoor activities. He also enjoyed a good game of Euchre and was always known to share a good joke or story.

 Funeral mass will be held on Monday April 11 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Stephen Humphrey officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery

 Visitation will be held on Sunday April 10 from 4 to 9 Pm and on Monday April 11 from 8 to 10:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown

 Breese knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7Pm on Sunday at the funeral home

 Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Church or Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home
