Alfred G. Venhaus, 93, of Breese,
died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Caring First Nursing Home in
Breese.
He was born October 26, 1915 in
Breese to Henry and Emma (Jansen) Venhaus; they preceded him in
death.
He married Elsie Rohde on
October 20, 1948
at St. Dominic Church in Breese; she preceded him in death on August
16, 1976.
Also preceded in death by a
great-granddaughter, Corynn Boresi; brothers, Lawrence Venhaus in
infancy, and Harry Venhaus, Edward Venhaus, Leo Venhaus, Jack
Venhaus, and Andrew Venhaus; sisters, Rosalie Venhaus in infancy and
Clara Kohrs; sisters-in-law, Agnes Venhaus, Rose Venhaus, Henrietta
Venhaus, Lizzie Venhaus, Helen Venhaus, Donelle Venhaus, Emma Rohde,
Josephine Rohde, Dell Rohde, Bert Rohde, Anna Vogt, and Betty
Werner; and brothers-in-law, Jake Kohrs, Henry Rohde, Fred Rohde,
Rich Rohde, Gus Rohde, Art Rohde, Carl Rohde, Fred Vogt, and Emil
Werner.
Surviving are his children, Ron
(Kathy) Venhaus, Robert (Carol) Venhaus, and Mary Jo (Dennis) Krebs
all of Breese.
8 Grandchildren-Joy (Mike) Boresi,
Nick (Larissa) Venhaus, Timothy Venhaus, Charlie Venhaus, Lauren
Krebs, Emily Krebs, Amy Krebs, and Johnny Venhaus.
Alfred retired from the Assembly
Line at General Motors after 30 years. He served as a US Army Medic
during WW II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was a member of St. Augustine
Catholic Church, Breese American Legion Post 252, former member of
the Clinton County Board, and a Charter Member of the Breese
Optimist Club.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM
at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and
Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will follow in St.
Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Monday, December
1, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, December 2, 2008
from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss
Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to the Breese
American Legion Building Fund or to All Saints Academy and will be
received at the funeral home.
Breese
American Legion will hold services at 7:00 PM Monday Evening at the
Funeral Home. |
