Wilbert J. "Bill" Von Hatten, 82, of Aviston died Monday, February 3, 2003 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville

He was born October 31, 1920 in St. Rose to Bernard and Louisa (Woltering) Von Hatten: they preceded him in death

Also preceded in death by sons; Billy Joe Von Hatten and Eric Von Hatten: a granddaughter Nicole Engel: brothers; Adolph Von Hatten and Urban Von Hatten: and Sisters-in-law Cora Warnecke and Alvina Von Alst

He married Joetta Heldorfer on June 5, 1946 at St. Felicitas Church in Beaver Prairie; she survives in Aviston

Also surviving is a son Gerard "Gary" (Sharon) Von Hatten of Breese

Daughters Marlene (David) Engel of Belleville, Carol (Don) Engel of Phoenix, AZ and Diane (Stan) Rakers of Aviston

Grandchildren Carla (John) Bouc, Aaron Rakers, Nicholas Rakers, Jason, Brent, Craig, Billy, and Cammi Von Hatten

Great-Grandchildren Emylia and Dominic Bouc

Brothers Elmer (Margaret) Von Hatten of Carlyle and Bernard (Alice) Von Hatten of Carlyle

Sisters Mary Ann Borgelt of Brighton, Mich., Bernice (Orville) Rueter of Carlyle, and Marcella (Ben) Grapperhaus of Bartelso

Sisters-in-law Catherine Von Hatten of Beckemeyer, Gladys Von Hatten of Carlyle, and Reva Dumstorff of Breese

Bill was a Truck Driver for Kohlbrecher Trucking Service in St. Rose

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Catholic Fraternal Life, and a former member of Breese Senior Citizens

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 11 AM at St. Francis Church in Aviston with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from 4 to 9 PM and again on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 8 to 10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese

Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869 will hold services at Wednesday, February 5 at 7 PM at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to the National Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Association, or to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
