She was born in St. Rose February 5, 1915 to Frank and Elizabeth (Tebbe) Schrage Sr.: they preceded her in death

She married Francis Woltering November 13, 1935 at St. Rose Church and he preceded her in death November 19, 1966

Also preceded in death by a grandson Jerome Hoffman, granddaughters Lisa Kueper and Maria Kueper, sisters Elizabeth Straeter, Cecilia Huelsmann, brothers Fred, Frank Jr., William, Albin and Victor Schrage and a son-in-law Ernie Hoffman

Surviving is a son David (Lena) Woltering of Belleville,

Daughters Eileen Hoffman of Collinsville, Ruth (Tom) Kueper of Carmel IN, Edie (Bill) Koch of O’Fallon, Connie (Richard) Fangmeyer of Breese, Jan (Joe) Humphrey of Breese

13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

A sister-in-law Cecilia Schrage of Carlyle

Irene owned and operated Woltering Garage and Hardware in St. Rose before her retirement

Member of St. Rose Church and Altar Sodality, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718, St. Rose Golden Age, St. Rose Development Club, Breese Senior Citizens and Catholic Fraternal Life

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 16, 2003 at 2:00 PM at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating Interment St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation wil be held on Tuesday April 15 from 4 to 9 PM and on Wednesday April 16 from 11 am to 1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral home in Breese

Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, St. Rose Church or Mater Dei high school and will be received at the funeral home
