Laurel Anne “Lauri” Brofka, 37, of
St. Rose, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 in St. Rose TWP.
She was born October 10, 1970 in
Houston,
TX to Edward and Linda (Albers)
Brofka; they survive in Marion, IL. To her parents, Lauri was and
always will be the light of their lives.
Also surviving is her maternal
grandmother, Bernice Albers of Marion, IL.
Her special friend, Jeremy Athmer of
St. Rose.
She was preceded in death by her
maternal grandfather, Gus Albers and her paternal grandparents,
Edward and Teresa Brofka, Sr.
Lauri graduated with her Bachelor
and Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Southern
Illinois University, Edwardsville and she was currently enrolled in
the Advanced Nursing Program at Southern Illinois University,
Edwardsville.
She was employed as a
Speech/Language Pathologist with NW Rehab in Alton, IL and was a
former Speech Therapist with First Step at the Clinton County
Rehabilitation Center in Breese.
Lauri loved animals, especially her
cat and dog. She will always be remembered for putting others
first.
A memorial service will be held
Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM
at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Deacon Charles
Litteken officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00
AM-11:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Francis Catholic
Church in Aviston.
The family requests memorial
donations to American Diabetes Association and that everyone
attending please wear casual dress. |
