Gerard M. Buss, 53, of Beckemeyer, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at his residence. 

He was born September 2, 1953 in Breese to Gregory and Cecilia (Pingsterhaus) Buss; they survive in Breese. 

He married Janet Poettker March 27, 1982 at St. Francis Church in Aviston and she survives in Beckemeyer. 

Also surviving are his three children Jessica Buss and special friend James Hopkins, Jolene Buss and special friend Matt Kohnen and Jeffrey Buss all of Beckemeyer. 

Brothers-in-law Robert (Mary) Poettker of St. Peters, MO, James (Judy) Poettker of Germantown, Gary (Linda) Poettker of Alhambra. 

Sisters-in-law Marilyn Diehl of St. Louis, Betty (Al) Dierkes of Germantown.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Joseph and Alvira Poettker. 

Gerard was a farmer, a laborer, and a former school bus driver for the Beckemeyer school district. 

Member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer, Breese Knights of Columbus council 2869, Central Laborers Local #670 in O’Fallon. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday December 16, 2006 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Beckemeyer.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 15 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday December 16 from 8:00 to 9:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home. 

Breese Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary Friday December 15 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
