Elmer L. “Emmie” Deien, 80, of Breese died Thursday January 18, 2007 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO 

He was born December 4, 1926 in Breese to William and Pauline (Thien) Deien: they preceded him in death 

Also preceded in death by a son Bradley Deien, a brother Robert Deien, brothers-in-law Clarence Beckmann, Charles Horstmann, Harold Weh and Charles Furtwengler a sister-in-law Bertha Horstmann 

He married Ruth Horstmann April 9, 1947 at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer and she survives in Breese 

Also surviving is a daughter Bonnie (Dean) Mickelson of Bartelso 

A daughter-in-law Sandy Deien of Breese 

A sister Florence Beckmann of Sandoval 

2 grandchildren Wyatt (Sarah) Mickelson of St. Rose, Wade (Tina) Mickelson of Bartelso 

2 step grandchildren Stacey (Brian) Becker of Breese, Chad (Anna) Kuhn of Breese 

2 great grandchildren Hayle and Hayden Mickelson 

2 step great grandchildren Leah DeZusa and Sadie Varel 

Sisters-in-law Florence Weh and Johanna Furtwengler both of Breese 

Emmie was retired from Scott Air Force Base. An Army veteran of WWII 

Member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, American Legion Post 252 of Breese and retired volunteer Breese Fireman 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 22, 2007 at 10AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment St. Dominic-St. Augustine cemetery, Breese 

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 21 from 4 to 9 PM and on Monday January 22 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese 

Breese American Legion will hold services Sunday January 21 at 7:30 Pm at the funeral home 

Memorials can be made to Clinton county Relay for Life, Breese Fire Department and will be received at the funeral home.
