Virgil A. "Dots" Deien 87 of Pocahontas and
formerly of Trenton died Wednesday December 31, 2003 at his daughter’s
residence
He was born July 26, 1916 in Breese, IL to Lawrence and Margaret
(Johnson) Deien: they preceded him in death
He married Lorien E. Hellmann April 29, 1942 at St. Augustine
Church in Breese and she preceded him in death May 30, 1999
Also preceded in death by Brothers Delmar Deien and Vincent Deien
Sr., a sister Viola "Sis" Rinderer
Surviving is a son Thomas (Phyllis) Deien of St. Libory
A daughter Mary (Dennis) Korte of Pocahontas
7 grandchildren Kevin (Joyce) Korte of St. Rose, Kurt Korte of
Highland, Kenneth (Cheryl) Korte of Mulberry Grove, Sandy (Craig)
Peterman of Belleville, Jennifer (Michael) Eversole of Belleville,
Michael Deien of Belleville, Marlena Daab of St. Louis, MO
8 great grandchildren
Virgil was retired from the B&O Railroad
Member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton American Legion Post
778 and past commander, VFW Post 7983 Trenton
Funeral Mass Saturday January 3, 2004 10:00 am at St. Mary
Catholic Church with Fr. James Dougherty officiating. Interment
Trenton Cemetery
