Raymond T. Deiters, 84, of St. Rose, died Monday, October 3, 2005 at his residence.

He was born September 27, 1921 in Breese, IL to Herman and Theresa (Detmer) Deiters; they preceded him in death. 

Also preceded in death by a brother, Vic Deiters, sisters, Regina Steinmann and Dorothy Wilken, a half-brother, Herman Deiters, and his Step-mother Catherine (Brueggemann) Deiters.  

He married Mary Wuebbels on October 10, 1945 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston; she survives in St. Rose. 

Also surviving are sons, John (Marcie) Deiters of Beckemeyer, Raymond H. (Mary) Deiters of Carlyle, Donald (Linda) Deiters of Breese, Ronald (Lucy) Deiters of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Gene (Julie) Deiters of Dacula, GA 

Also surviving is a daughter, Carolyn (Terry) Deweese of Dacula, GA. 

14 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren

Also surviving are half-brothers, Vince (Mary Ann) Deiters of Pocahontas, and Edward (Jeannie) Deiters of Carlyle. 

Also surviving are half-sisters, Marie Buehler of Lebanon, TN, Catherine Schrage of Highland, and Agnes (Paul “Peanuts”) Hilmes of Breese. 

Raymond was a farmer and he retired from Arrow Group Industries in Breese as a Dye Setter-Machine Operator. 

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, St. Rose Development Club, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and was a charter member of the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 11 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2005 from 4 to 8 PM and again on Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 8 to 10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Breese Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
