Bernadette A. “Bernie” Elling 80 of Breese died Thursday September 27, 2007 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese 

She was born September 19, 1927 in Breese to Paul and Mary (Wessel) Foppe: they preceded her in death 

She married Alvin “Blackie” Elling August 19, 1947 at St. Augustine Church in Breese and he preceded her in death January 23, 1983 

Also preceded in death by brothers; Paul Foppe, Louis Foppe, sisters; Sr, Regina Foppe O.L.V.K., Agnes Keeven and Henrietta Schaefer 

Surviving are sons Tom Elling of Centralia, Lloyd (Robyn) Elling of Sidney B.C. Canada, Lyle (Janet) Elling of Trenton, Bob Elling of Breese, W. Francis Elling of Philadelphia, PA 

Daughters Wanda (Kraig) Hudson of Pocahontas, Lois (George) Zollner of Breese, Ellen (Rick) Isert of Highland 

9 grandchildren Allison (Andy) Cassibry, Nick and, Tyler, Hudson, Butch (Friend Jackie Tamboer) Zollner, Kate and Joe Isert, Laura Elling, Holly and Ivy Quaintance-Elling  

2 great grandchildren Will and Ava Cassibry 

A sister-in-law Loretta Foppe of Breese 

Bernie was retired from the Department of Conservation with the State of Illinois 

Member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, Breese Senior Citizens 

Funeral mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday September 29, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese. Fr. Ben Stein officiating Interment St. Dominic-St.  Augustine Cemetery 

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 29, 2007 from 8 to 10:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese 

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home
