Irene S. Gebke (nee Kapp), 80,of Bartelso died Saturday March 24, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. 

She was a homemaker, worked at Brueggemann Draperies as a seamstress and baby sitter for all her grandchildren. 

She was born Sept. 2 1926 in Breese to Otto and Mary (Kruep) Kapp, they preceded he in death. 

She married Arnold Gebke Oct 19 1948 in St. Dominic Church in Breese and he survives in Bartelso. 

Also surviving are children and in laws, Jane (David) Beckmann of Carlyle, Arnie (Kelly) Gebke of Bartelso, Pat (Randy) Kruep of Bartelso, Marvin “Ziff” (Kim) Gebke of Damiansville, Judy (Gerard “Rex”) Schomaker of Albers and Tim (Kristy) Gebke of Bartelso and Karen Gebke of Breese.  In  addition are 13 grandchildren Sara (Jason) Snow, Jodi (Tim) Meyer Lori Beckmann and fiancée Tommy Hall, Scott Gebke, Dana Gebke and special friend Mike Winkeler, Tyler Gebke, Amber Gebke, Corey Kruep, Brett Kruep, Alicia Gebke, Teresa Schomaker, Conner Schomaker Austin Gebke; 5 great grandchildren, Camden, Kaiden and Ella Snow, Emma Meyer and Madison Winkeler. 

1 brother Richard (Netty) Kapp of Fairview Heights, 3 sisters Viola Trame, Evelyn Ratermann both of Breese and Clara (Dick) Korte of Collinsville. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Leonard Gebke brother Harold Kapp and sisters Leona Ratermann, Eleanor Renschen and Mary Ann Ripperda. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 27 at 2 PM at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown Monday from 4 to 9 Pm and Tuesday from 11 AM to 1:30 PM.   Memorials can be made to donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
