Robert J. “Bob” Gruender, 63, of Trenton, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. 

He was born February 22, 1944 in Breese, to Joseph and Anna Margaret (Thome) Gruender; they preceded him in death.

He married Shirley Feldt on June 12, 1972 at St. Mary Church in Trenton; she preceded him in death on April 30, 1994. 

Also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Maurice “Burky” Burkhardt, and sisters-in-law, Pam Feldt and Jenny Feldt. 

Surviving is his children, Kevin (Jessica) Gruender and Lynette (Donald) Deien all of Trenton. 

A Sister, Ann (Jerry) Mondt of Aviston. 

Brothers-in-law, Forest Feldt of Summerfield, Bernard (Gwen) Feldt of Trenton, and Dennis Feldt of Trenton. 

Bob was a cook at the Mayfair Restaurant in St. Louis, and also at Trenton House, Outside Inn in New Baden, Valbo’s in Germantown and Olie’s in Aviston. 

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. James Dougherty officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton. 

Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to the Mary Knoll Fathers or to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and will be received at the funeral home.
