Arnold J. “Spike” Haake, 78, of Germantown died Wednesday July 22, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese 

He was born October 2, 1930 in Germantown to Arnold H. and Cecilia (Kniepmann) Haake: they preceded him in death 

Also preceded in death by a brother Thomas “Toby” Haake, brothers-in-law Edward Gramann, Joseph Winter, Cyril Schniers, sisters-in-law Gail Schniers and Phyllis Schniers 

He married Ethel Schniers October 15, 1957 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and she survives in Germantown 

Also surviving are his children Ralph (Cindy) Haake of Germantown, Cindy (Randy) George of Centralia, Allen (Sarah) Haake of Germantown, and Sheila (Ron) Trame of Bartelso 

4 grandchildren-Ashley and Grant Haake, Travis and Shawn George 

Brothers, Clarence “Hank” (Elizabeth) Haake of Belleville, Rich (Kathy) Haake of Germantown, sisters Lucille Gramann of Breese, Pauline (Norman) Dierkes of Carlyle, Dori (John) Johnson of Germantown, Mary Winter of Breese 

A brother-in-law, Bernell Schniers of Carlyle 

Sisters-in-law, Marilyn Haake of Germantown, Lorraine Schniers of Albers 

Spike was retired from Nabisco Bakery in St. Louis, MO, a veteran of the United States Army and inductee of the Clinton County Baseball Hall of Fame. Spike was an avid camper and enjoyed fishing 

Member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, American Legion Post 325 in Germantown, Kernel Nut Club, Germantown 

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday July 25, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery 

Visitation will be on Friday July 24 from 4 to 9 PM and Saturday July 25 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown 

Germantown American Legion will hold services at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to the donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home
