Helen M. Hanks 72 of Carlyle and formerly of Breese died Thursday April 12, 2007 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese 

She was born July 30, 1934 in East St. Louis, IL to Joseph and Augusta (Longlois) Blanford: they preceded her in death 

She married Eugene Hanks February 12, 1952 at Scared Heart Church in East St. Louis and he preceded her in death July 4, 1986 

Also preceded in death by sisters Rose Pierce, Goldie Earlin and Dorothy Dwyer 

Surviving are sons Eugene (Wendy) Hanks of Odin, Walter (Nancy) Hanks of Odin, Kirk (Jean) Hanks of Topeka Kansas, Christopher (Jessica) Hanks of Highland 

Daughters Sharon Hanks of Centralia, Barbara (Frank) Quint of Reno, NV 

Grandchildren Stephanie, Walter Jr., Corey, Blake, Zachary and Madalyn Hanks, Barret, Samantha, and Zachary Zeller, Matthew Utley, and Blake Beckmann 

A sister Marcella (Glenn) Middleton of St. Clair, MO 

Helen was retired nurse’s aid from St. Joseph Hospital in Breese and Caring First Nursing Home in Breese 

Member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese 

Funeral service Monday April 16, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville  

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 15 from 4 to 9 PM and on Monday April 16 from 8 to 10 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese 

Memorials can be made to St. Joseph Hospital, Breese and will be received at the funeral home
