Alma G. Gaines-Hayes, nee Bright,
84, of Trenton, died Monday, April 2, 2007 at
St.
Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.
She was born September 28, 1922 in
Belleville to John “Frank” and Stella (Cable) Bright; they preceded
her in death.
She married Reuben Gaines on July
19, 1947 in E. St. Louis; he preceded her in death on July 8, 1975.
She then married William Hayes on
April 12, 1986 in Mobile, Alabama; he preceded her in death on
August 5, 1990.
Also preceded in death by a brother,
John Bright, and sisters, Gertrude McCord, Dorothy Wilson, and Wanda
Greene
Surviving are her daughters Nona
(Robert, Sr.) Ponder of Trenton and Gail (Michael, Sr.) Bell of
Sorento.
6 Grandchildren, Robert “Sammy”
(friend Annette Clover) Ponder, Jr., Tiara Ponder, Joseph Ponder,
Jolene Millar, Michael (Lisa) Bell, Jr., Quincy (Tish) Bell.

A brother, Kenneth Bright of
O’Fallon.
Many Nieces (special thanks to Sandy
Rhoades and Kitty Miller), Nephews, and Friends
Alma retired as a cashier from
Famous-Barr.
She attended West
Gate Baptist Church in
Trenton.
Funeral Services will be Thursday,
April 5, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with
Rev. Thomas Rankin officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, April
5, 2007 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to her family
and will be received at the funeral home. |
