Art Hoerchler 82 of Bartelso, died Monday February 2,
2004 at St. Joseph hospital in Breese
He was born January28, 1922 in New Baden, IL to Anton and
Josephine (Kreke) Hoerchler: they preceded him in death
He married Freda Seelhoefer April 15, 1947 St. Felicitas Church
in Beaver Prairie and she preceded him in death July 11, 1992
Also preceded in death by son-in-law Bernard "Beans"
Toennies, brothers; Henry and Edwin Hoerchler and a sister Lenora
Hoerchler
Surviving are sons Francis "Butch" (Deborah) Hoerchler
of Bartelso, Ken "cub" (Debra) Hoerchler of New Baden
Daughters Mary Jane (Jeff) Timmermann of Germantown, Diane
Toennies of Bartelso, Marilyn (Rich) Varel of New Baden, Audrey (Geno)
Carvotta of Bartelso
17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
A sister-in-law Eileen Hoerchler of Fort Dodge Iowa
Art lived in Bartelso since 1950. He was employed at Kohrmann
Electric and later at Scott Air Force Base as a Civil Engineer,
retiring in 1987. He served on the Bartelso Village board from 1967
to 1985. He was Mayor of Bartelso from 1985 to 1997
Art was a World War II veteran having serves in Okinawa Japan. He
was a life member of the Bartelso American Legion serving two terms
as commander. Carlyle VFW, Catholic War Veteran, Bartelso Knights of
Columbus, Catholic Fraternal Life, Clinton County Farm Bureau
And St. Cecilia Catholic Church
Funeral Mass Thursday February 5, 2004 at 2:00 PM at St. Cecilia
Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating.
Interment St. Cecilia Cemetery
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 4 from 4 to 9 PM
and on Thursday February 5 from 11 am to 1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral
Home in Germantown
