Helen W. Holtgrave, 87, of St Rose died Monday March 13 2006 at Caring First in Breese. 

She was born January 31 1919 in Bartelso IL to John and Mary (Henrichs) Ribbing.  She married Edwin “Hoppie” Holtgrave May 10 1939 and he died December 16, 1990. 

She was a homemaker, member of St Rose Church and Altar Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, St Rose Senior Citizens. 

She was preceded in death by a grandson Brad Holtgrave, brothers Arnold, Raymond and wife Mary Helen, & Ralph Ribbing, a sister and her husband Johanna & Cletus Walters and a brother in law August Timmermann. 

She is Survived by sons Stan (Kathy) Holtgrave of St Rose, Mike (Clarice) of Maryville , daughter Jeanette (Maurice) Dierkes of Germantown, 8 grandchildren Brenda (Steve) Hellige of Breese, Doug (Jennifer) Dierkes of Bloomington, IL, Craig (JoAnn) Dierkes of Longwood Florida, Brian (Kellye) Holtgrave of St Rose, Denise (Chad) Sellers of Breese , Dana (Jason) Obermeier of Okawville, Tammi Thiele of Waynesville Missouri and Nick Buckhannon of Maryville, 16 great grandchildren.   

Also Surviving are sisters Marie (Roger) Micheel of Germantown, Agnes (Marcellus) Korte of St Rose, Eleanor (Marcellus) Potthast of Pierron, Betty (Robert) Usselmann  of Aviston, Anna Timmermann of St Rose and sister in law Louise Ribbing of Highland. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 16, 2 Pm at St Rose Church with Fr Edward Schaefer officiating.  Interment will be in St Rose Cemetery.  Friends may call @ the Moss Funeral Home in Breese Wednesday March 15 from 4 to 9 Pm and Thursday from 11 am to 1:30 Pm.  Memorials can be made to St Rose Church or All Saints Academy and will be received at the funeral home.  The Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home
