Irene M. Holtgrave, nee Litteken, 86, of Germantown, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Aviston Countryside Manor. 

Mrs. Holtgrave was born February 9, 1923 in Aviston to Joseph and Bertha (Poettker) Litteken; they preceded her in death. 

She married Raymond Haukap on October 8, 1947 at St. Francis Church in Aviston; he preceded her in death on February 20, 1966.  She then married Steve Holtgrave on July 8, 1972 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown; he preceded her in death on September 6, 1998. 

Also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob “Sock” Kauling; a sister, Esther Trame, brothers; Joseph Litteken, Chester Litteken, Jerome Litteken, Stanley Litteken, and Leonard Litteken; a sister-in-law, Delores Litteken; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Trame. 

Surviving are her children, Jim (Stephanie) Haukap of Belleville and Doris Kauling of Beckemeyer. 

3 Grandchildren, Emily Haukap, Ray Kauling, and Erika (fiancé Mark Niemann) Kauling. 

Brothers and sisters, Laura (Edgar) Kapp of Highland, Ruth (Clarence) Kapp of Highland, Bertha (Andrew) Thole of Aviston, Maurice (Bonny) Litteken of Highland, Leo (Pat) Litteken of Albers, Mary Jane (Joe) Gebhart of Aviston and Judy (Jim) Boehler of Aviston. 

A sister-in-law, Rose Litteken of Marine and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. 

Irene retired as a cook from Germantown Elementary School. 

She was a member of St Boniface Church in Germantown. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating.  Interment will be in St. Felicitas Cemetery, Beaver Prairie. 

Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 and again on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
