Eugene B. Horstmann, 89, of Trenton,
died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
Mr. Horstmann was born October 30,
1918 in St. Rose to Bernard and Clara (Middeke) Horstmann; they
preceded him in death.
He married Dorothy Schumacher on
September 24, 1941 at St. Rose Catholic Church; she preceded him in
death on October 31, 1999.
Also preceded in death by a son,
Paul Horstmann; a granddaughter, Anna Burton; a great-grandson,
Sebastian Horstmann; brothers, Edwin Horstmann and John Horstmann; a
sister, Mary Buehne; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Horstmann;
brothers-in-law, Sylvester Schumacher, Paul Netemeyer, Vince
Poettker, Norman Wilson, and August Buehne; sisters-in-law, Martha
Horstmann and Regina Horstmann.
Surviving are his children, Dennis
(Jeanette) Horstmann of Trenton, Glenn (Diane) Horstmann of
O’Fallon, MO, Mark (Mary Ann) Horstmann of Elkville, Eva (Mike) Koch
of Aviston, Lucy (Lee) Wellen of Highland, Matt (Betsy) Horstmann of
Trenton, Dottie (Kevin) Burton of Aviston, and Jeanne (Ron) Thole of
Trenton.

Schumacher of Trenton.
Eugene retired from farming and he
also worked as a rural mail carrier.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church and Men’s Sodality, Charter Member and past officer of
Trenton Knights of Columbus 2932, Charter member of Aviston Knights
of Columbus 1110, past president of Trenton Senior Citizens, and a
former board member of the Trenton Co-op.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM
at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Trenton with Fr. Gene Kreher and Fr.
Dan Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis
Cemetery, Aviston.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July
16, 2008 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday, July 17, 2008 from
8:00-10:15 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
The Trenton Knights of Columbus will
hold service at 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to his
handicapped great-grandchildren, Kyle and Hannah and will be
received at the funeral home. |
