Cornelius J. “Corney” Kniepmann, 79,
of Germantown, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at
St. Elizabeth Hospital in
Belleville.
Mr. Kniepmann was born April 9, 1929
in Germantown to Henry Kniepmann, Jr. and Regina Beckmann-Kniepmann-
Boevingloh.; they preceded him in death.
Also preceded in death by a brother,
Robert Kniepmann, a sister, Dorothy K. Haselhorst, Step-father,
Anthon Boevingloh, and brothers-in-law, Karl Haselhorst and Bill
Ryan.
He married Bernice “Bim” Thoele on
October 9, 1951 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown; she survives
in Germantown.
Also surviving are his children, Judy
(Duane) Kampwerth of Germantown, Janet (Will) Scoggins of Lakeland,
FL, Gerald (Joyce) Kniepmann of Germantown, and John (Kerry)
Kniepmann of Breese.
10 Grandchildren, Greg Kampwerth,
Beth (Mark) Tlapek, Jennifer Kampwerth, Jeff Kampwerth, Lisa
Kampwerth, Kyle and Katie Kniepmann, Amber Rankin, Kysa Rankin, and
Paige Kniepmann
A brother, James (Reine) Kniepmann of
St. Louis, and sisters, Patricia (Gerald) Venhaus of Collinsville,
and Mary Ryan of Chatham
Corney operated Mid-County Grain, INC
in Germantown for 52 years and was
the Owner/Operator for 36 years.
He was a member of St. Boniface
Church and Men’s Sodality and he also served as past president of
the parish council, Member and Past Financial Secretary of Breese K
of C Council 2869, Serve 12 years as an Alderman of the village of
Germantown , Past Member of Germantown Community Development, Past
Member of Germantown Business Association and he was partially
responsible in opening a medical facility and egg plant in
Germantown
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will
be Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church in
Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment will
follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, June 23,
2008 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from
8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in
Germantown.
