Dennis J. Melton, 54, of Beckemeyer, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL. 

Mr. Melton was born September 27, 1952 in Centralia to Elmer and Nadine (Kinney) Melton; they survive in Carlyle. 

Also surviving are his children, Jennifer Melton and Cory (special friend Rae Barnett) Melton both of Beckemeyer. 

A granddaughter, Isabelle Grace Melton. 

Brothers and Sisters, Sharon (Eddie) Rule of Carlyle, Linda (Joe) Koch of Fort Wayne, IN, Elmer “J. R.” (Stacy) Melton of Breese, Debbie (Ronnie) Hunt of Carlyle, Ralph (Debbie) Melton of Carlyle, Mary (special friend Ron) Hitpas of Keyesport, Michael Melton of Carlyle, Becky (Dale) Peters of Germantown, Jan (Rich) Holtgrave of Beckemeyer, Lisa (Rich) Rodenberg of Tilden. 

He was previously married to Vicki (Pulver) Melton of Beckemeyer. 

Preceded in death by a sister, Doris Legate, brothers-in-law, Jim Legate and Tim Hitpas, a niece, Chelsey Melton, a nephew Jeremy Melton, and friend, Roger Lappe. 

Dennis worked as an equipment operator for Kauling Wood Products in Beckemeyer. 

He was a member of the Beckemeyer Washer Club and the Beckemeyer Community Development Club. 

Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Mike Garrison officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Beckemeyer. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
