Sylvester A. “Silver” Miller, 82, of New Baden died Wednesday May 4, 2005 at Country Side Manor Aviston.

 He was born August 30, 1922 in Roxbury Wisconsin to Gilbert and Theresia (Laubmeier) Miller.  They preceded him in death.

 He was a member of St. George Catholic Church and Holy Name Society New Baden, New Baden Knights of Columbus, Carlyle Catholic War Veterans, New Baden American Legion Post 321, Laborer’s Local 742, Carlyle VFW Post 3523, Operating Engineers Local 520, Friends of the Shrine of St. Joseph, and was a retired New Baden Volunteer Fireman.  He was an air force veteran of WW II. 

He married Adelle Vosholler-Dust May 8, 1951 at St. George Church New Baden and she died January 26, 1986. 

He is survived by 2 daughters Diane (Gerry) Prange of New Douglas, Debra Miller of Staunton a step daughter Ruth Dust (Robert Anderson) of Belleville and special friend Violet Schroeder of Alhambra.  Also survived by a brother Vincent (Judy) Miller of Lodi Wisconsin and a sister Dorothy Bornmann of Rochester Minnesota.  He has 2 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by step daughters Betty Dust and Dorothy Dust Yoakum, a sister Marjorie Hellenbrand and a brother George Miller.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 9 2005 at 10 Am at St. George church New Baden with Fr. Donald Blaes officiating interment in Resurrection Cemetery New Baden. Friends may call at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton Sunday May 8 from 4 to 9 PM and Monday May 9 from 8 to 9:30 AM. Memorials can be to St. Joseph Shrine or donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral Home.  

The New Baden Fire Department, New Baden American Legion, and the New Baden Knights of Columbus will hold Services Starting at 7 PM on Sunday evening at the funeral home
