Mary M. Niebruegge, nee Pottmeyer, 84, of Breese, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. 

She was born July 20, 1923 in Breese, to Herman and Gertrude "Funke" Pottmeyer: they preceded her in death.  

She married John Niebruegge on July 12, 1950; he preceded her in death on November 13, 1985. 

Also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hynes and Angela Pottmeyer, and brothers, William Pottmeyer and Frank Pottmeyer. 

Surviving is a sister, Catherine Woodruff of Albuquerque, NM and many nieces and nephews. 

Mary received her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.  She formerly taught at St. Augustine School in Breese and retired from District 12 in Breese as a Kindergarten Teacher. 

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Breese Library Board, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, and the Breese Historical Society. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Ben Stern officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic~St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to All Saints Academy, Mater Dei High School, or St. Dominic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
